The message from the HR department from October 2021:

Dear Team Members,

Thank you all for the warm welcome to Skillsoft over the last few weeks – I’m energized to be here! One of the reasons I joined Skillsoft is our talented people, and I look forward to getting to know each of you. I speak on behalf of the entire executive leadership team in saying we continue to be impressed by your commitment to our culture of learning and our vision to be the most highly valued company in our industry.

As Chief People Officer, I feel it is important for you to receive this update directly from me. A recently issued Executive Order requires federal contractors and subcontractors to ensure that their employees are fully vaccinated, regardless of whether they work remotely or onsite. Given the number of federal contracts Skillsoft has, and the broad coverage of the Executive Order, the Order applies to our company.

Therefore, Skillsoft, in accordance with the Executive Order, will require all team members working in the United States to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021, other than in limited circumstances where the law requires an exemption. I recognize there are differing views on this matter, so let me provide some additional context.

Skillsoft has said from the beginning of the pandemic that we would follow all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the various countries in which we do business. In this case, that means we will comply with the Executive Order as it pertains to our team members working in the U.S. While many of our team members are already vaccinated, we are aware that vaccination is a step some are still considering.

Here are the most important things for you to know:

Some vaccines require multiple doses with a period of time in between, and it takes two weeks after the final dose to be considered fully vaccinated. It is thus critical that you begin the process as soon as possible, if you have not already done so.
Information about where to find a local vaccine provider and how to schedule an appointment is available on vaccines.gov.
Once you are fully vaccinated, please submit your proof of vaccination by emailing an electronic copy of your vaccination record to CovidVacStatus@skillsoft.com. If you live in California or Connecticut, there is an additional step required. HR will reach out to you separately.
Consistent with the Executive Order, we have also established a process under which employees can seek an accommodation for medical conditions or sincerely held religious beliefs, observances or practices that are inconsistent with receiving the vaccination. If you believe this applies to you, please send an email request to CovidVacReligious@skillsoft.com for religious exception requests and CovidVacMedical@skilllsoft.com for medical exception requests.
Effective December 8, 2021, employees will need to be fully vaccinated to visit Skillsoft offices and client sites, travel when permissible or attend business related activities in-person. Any Skillsoft team member traveling to the US for business will also need to be fully vaccinated.
This new policy does not change our current work arrangements, and we are continuing with remote work at this time. As always, we will keep you informed about any changes that impact you.

We have attached a set of FAQs with additional information. This information is also available on Nexus. If you have further questions, please email CovidVacQandA@skillsoft.com and an HR representative will reach out to you directly.

Thank you for your continued hard work and commitment to Skillsoft.

Sincerely,
